Lights out.
Saturday was spent at the National Stadium, watching that much anticipated match between Singapore vs Australia. Okay, I'll rephrase that. That much anticipated match
(that Australia was going to win) between Singapore vs Australia.
So yes, newsflash two days ago: Singapore 0- 3 Australia.
So like a proud citizen, and a true fan of the Lions since three years ago, I went there with much faith for the Lions to at least score a goal, but of course not win the game. Yes, that's true fan for you. I'm still suffering from the aftermath of that whole evening. It was afterall, the closing ceremony of the Grand Ol' Lady. (:
First off was the veterans' match. It was a tad boring, rather funny at one point and dreadful for awhile. It was bad enough that Fandi Ahmad was not playing, so I only recognise two or three players on the pitch. The crowd was still coming into the stadium at half time, so didn't really feel like a real match. To make it worse, I thought it felt like watching a bunch of uncles and grandpas playing weekend football to lose some weight.
On a much lighter note, the rest of the evening was alright. Yes, I was a little upset that them Lions didn't manage even a goal despite two goals on shot, and Alam Shah wasn't there to spice up the forwards. (I'm aware of my disability at describing, thank you.) and I coudn't even get a decent glimpse of Harry Kewell. (not that I really was bothered by it) But watching it with the brother and cousins who didn't think twice of shouting instructions and cursing mindlessly more than make up for it. They were a laugh, I tell you.
Oh, and thanks to the closing ceremony thing and the NDP preview going on at the same time, it really felt like being at NDP; nostalgic, patriotic and all.
Err, it was fun, indeed. (:
